Paracas National Reserve.
Without a doubt one of the star activities in the area. Its creation dates from the year 1975 and receives the number of 100 thousand visitors per year. The Reserve is located in the most desert zone of the coast of Peru and at the same time is located in one of the richest maritime zones with currents of cold water.

You can see a great variety of birds, such as pelicans, earrings, parihuanas, arctic plovers, Peruvian potoyunco or Humboldt penguins; mammals such as chusco or bufeo; fish like the ray or the pampanito; or other fascinating animals like the muimuy, the gecko and turtles.

From Paracas you can take boat tours to sail offshore to the Ballestas Islands natural refuge of species such as Humboldt penguins currently in danger of extinction.
