TOUR DESCRIPTION

Colca Canyon has more than three thousand meters deep, is the deepest in the world, is almost two times deeper than the Grand Canyon of Colorado, is surrounded by terraced crops, hot springs, many villages where time seems to stand still, is common across herds of guanacos, llamas and alpacas, crossed on the roads and where many still linger coyas traditions, religious rites, their music, their clothes (especially women), their houses of mud and straw and much most definitely a unique experience.

ITINERARY

03:30 am. Pick-up from your hotel heading to Colca Canyon.

After a 3 hour journey, we’ll stop in the first town of Chivay to eat breakfast.
Afterward, we’ll continue on to the “Cruz del Condor”

This is where the Andean Condor, the world’s largest flying bird offers a truly impressive show for all visitors, it is important to be as early as possible in order not to miss the spectacular nature show.

You will remain here for 1 hour and then you will have the option to make a short hike on your own along the edge of the canyon (mild hike and signposted, please note this needs to be requested with the tour guide).

This enjoyable trek is for everyone and will offer you spectacular dropping views of the canyon walls.

Transport will wait for you at the end of the hike and take you back to Chivay making some stops of unique picture viewpoints of the Colca Canyon with its outstanding pre-Inca terraces or “Andenes” along the valley.

Once you arrive in Chivay you will be drop to the station to take another bus to follow the way to Puno.

Our  tourist bus will  stop along the way: First point is Patapampa which is located 4910 above the sea level where we will see some volcanos like Sabancaya, after we will stop in National Reserve Salinas Aguada Blanca to see Alpacas, we continue to Lagunillas and we will arrive to Puno.
